Leafy Nook reimagines an unused corner of a rural Japanese home into an inhabitable art installation. Drawing inspiration from the nearby forests and mountains, the work mirrors organic forms and natural textures, bringing elements of the surrounding landscape indoors.
Grass-textured panels and synthetic foliage were shaped and layered to create flowing, organic patterns that evoke the movement and depth of nature. Spatial mapping techniques, including projection tools, ensured precise composition and integration with the existing architecture. Adjustable LED lighting transforms the nook’s atmosphere, casting soft green tones that shift the space into a lush, immersive environment. The interplay of light, texture, and sound—such as the faint hum of cicadas—creates a tranquil yet vibrant experience.
